Day 34

August 19th
Miles:  ?

I still can’t get the pictures in order.  I tried cutting and pasting but that didn’t work either.  It would cut, then paste something called and nothing shows up when viewing the post.  Until I get caught up, I don’t see any practical way to load the pics in chronological order.

The end of the day had an alternate route that led to the most beautiful falls I had every seen.  The picture doesn’t do it justice.  It was immense and stunning.  I rarely take the alternate routes as they tend to be longer with more elevation to get a cool view.  Normally, I have enough views on the trail and don’t need to work harder to get another one.  In this case, it was worth it.

Once again, the trail was covered in bushes.  Can you find the trail?  In the mornings the bushes are all wet and filled with spider webs.  That’s always pleasant.

Another stunning falls, zoomed in from a distance.

Here’s the same falls without the zoom.

Cool creek.  There are many of these on the trail but I don’t usually bother taking a picture.

The next three shots are in the morning leaving Timberline Lodge.  I wanted to keep taking pictures but as the views kept getting better and better as I walked.  But, at some point, you need to keep moving.  The trail won’t walk itself…

The following two pics were actually taken later in the day.  Don’t know why they ended up here.  Guess the order that they load is not necessarily in complete reverse, but more random.

This was one of the many creative bridges over creeks.  You walk on the lower tree and hold onto the rope of the higher tree.  You don’t want to fall in the water as it is gushing down stream like a fire hose.  Climbing over the roots at the end was tricky, especially with a heavy pack.
