Day 53

Sept 7
Miles:  20.8
PCT:  2362.9 – 2383.7
Total Miles:  656.6

Same foot saga.  Lots of climbing today and lots of down hill walking.  I was surrounded by two crowds of hikers and we took lots of long breaks today.  I like to socialize, but I also want to keep moving.  Since the feet are keeping me to 20 miles per day, I can take longer at breaks and can get up later in the morning.  Once the feet get better, I will be less social and more driven.

It was another beautiful, sunny day but cool with a breeze.  Perfect weather for me.  We ended at a lake that had a small area next to it for 3 tents.  Two were already taken when I got there.  The third was used as a toilet by some people that didn’t bury their waste.  I couldn’t bare to stay there and it was too far to the next campsite on the trail, so I went out looking for somewhere near the trail where I could make into a campsite.  I got lucky,  tucked behind some trees, just off the trail was a tent site with 3 tent pads.  No one was there so I had it to myself.  I was sooo happy.  I get to get up when I want to, which is 4am and get an early start on my day tomorrow.
