Another hard day. The climbs were small but long. It was very cloudy all morning and I was worried about rain/snow. It was cold enough for snow and the wind was blowing all day, making it colder. By about noon, the clouds started to break and I was less concerned. Not sure what I’ll do if it snows one of these days. It will cover the trail, making navigation difficult. Too much snow may make it impossible to traverse. I don’t want to think about it.
My feet were better today but my right knee keeps giving me trouble, making me limp and slowing me down. There seems to always be one pain to focus on. Luckily, the brain seems to shut down the other pains giving priority to the worst one at the moment. I would hate to have all my pain centers firing all at once.
One of the “reliable” sources of water was dry, but I noticed when I looked up stream, I could see where the water came down a waterfall. It was dry, but I climbed up the stream to have a look. There was a small wet spot on the rocks so I climbed further. After risking my life to get to the waterfall, I found there was a dribble of water coming down, so I filled up my bottles.
